Being Induced......

Well I had my Dr's appointment on Monday and nothing had changed. So for the last three weeks, I have been barely dilated and not experiencing any contractions :( The Dr. gave us the option of waiting another week to see what happens or scheduling an induction. Kevin and I were both pretty anti-induction, the only problem was, I had already taken time off of work. I couldn't imagine another week of being off work without my little monkey. It seemed like such a waste! Plus, I am extremely impatient. Also, if I had opted to wait another week I would have had to go in and do a stress test to make sure the monkey wasn't stressed. If she was, then we would have to do an induction anyway.

So Kevin and I opted to be induced. We are going to the hospital Wed. evening at 6:30pm, which means that our little girl should be here Thursday morning!!!! Yeah!!!! We can't wait! Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pictures on Sunday night of our beautiful, healthy, baby girl!

Stay tuned.....

Waiting.......

Well January 22nd came and went and no baby monkey! I keep telling her that everyday she is late, she is grounded. So far she is on day 3. I guess she is stubborn like her mother, because she doesn't seem to care. She seems very content where she is. So for the past several days I have been staring at the calender....
And looking at the clock.....but to no avail. I have a Dr's appt. Monday morning and they are going to talk about inducing me if nothing has happened by then. So check back on Tues. or so of this week and I should have an update on the arrival of baby monkey......

In the meantime, though, my boys have been doing a very good job at trying to catch up on sleep before the baby monkey arrives. How cute are Kev and Guido?

Progressive Holiday Party

This Saturday was finally our company holiday party. We reserved an old paddle wheel boat to cruise on Mission Bay while we ate and partied. A bunch of us met up beforehand at a nearby bar called the Coaster Saloon. It gets it's name from the old wooden roller coaster right across the street in Belmont Park. Here is Sean and Dave as the night gets started at the saloon.

Justin has a great Mr. Rogers likeness.

Will and Joe at the saloon. Isn't Joe precious?

Megan and Cindy cheese it up for the camera. Looking good ladies!

This is the best picture I could get of the roller coaster in the distance while we were on the boat. The lights outline the track and occasionally flash on and off.

My branch manager Sean and the regional manager Lance's wife. I think I caught her a little off guard!

Neighbor and team leader Drew with his main squeeze Courtney at the dinner table.

Shon (a.k.a. Shooter) and Rita at dinner. They were largely responsible for my baby daddy party this past fall.

As the night goes on, Drew, Will, Collin, Emily and Courtney start to get a little loosened up!

Angie and Shooter by the bar on the boat. Angie looks great, Shooter looks a little loaded!
I decided not to attend the holiday party. I didn't think it would be wise to be on a boat for 3 hours in case baby monkey decided to come. I thought it would be unlikely, but you never know. How embarrassing would that be to have to ask the boat to turn around because my water just broke! So while Kevin was at his work party, I had friends (Lauren and Lucas) over. We ordered pizza and watched a ton of movies. Then on Sunday, I went over to a friend's house for our annual Goal Board party. We flipped through magazines and cut out pictures and words that resemble the goals we want to achieve in the future. This is my third year doing it and I highly recommend it!
Friday was my last day of work for the next 13 weeks! I am nervous that I am going to be bored out of my mind this week, so I am hoping baby monkey will not be late. It will be very weird not going to work every day.... I don't know what I'll do with myself. I have a Dr's appointment on Monday so we'll see what they have to say.....
Hopefully my next post will actually have pictures of our little monkey! We can't wait!!!

11 days and counting!!!

Check out that belly! I think I swallowed a beach ball :) Well, only 11 days till my due date! Here are some belly pictures (hopefully the last of them). Kevin and I are all ready for the arrival of our baby monkey. We actually can't wait. I go to the doctor every week now and am just waiting for something to happen. I am still working, but this will probably be my last week depending on how my doctors appointment goes on Monday.
I feel lucky that I have had a very easy pregnancy and I am keeping my fingers crossed that our baby girl will be as easy as my pregnancy. We can wish, right?

I watched the Fiesta Bowl all alone with Guido. I didn't want to have a party, because every time I do, they lose. Obviously, they still lose. But I sported Guido in his Ohio State T-shirt and baseball hat. Thanks for those mom and dad! Here is the front version of him, looking like a nerd (he hates the hat, by the way, but I think it is too funny)
Here is him lying down so you can see the Ohio State part.
Every Christmas we get together with our friends to do a re-gift exchange. We take old gifts we have been given, wrap them up and do a white elephant gift exchange. Because of schedules, we had it this weekend. Every year, Kevin gets the worst gift! Here he is opening his Pink Nightmare :)

Lauren received a Christmas ornament of a Merman. Not a Mermaid, but a merman. It was too funny.

But of course we made Kevin try on his new pants! Normally we go out to the bar afterwards and you have to wear what you were given. Being that I am pregnant, we didn't do that this year. So he lucked out.
HE is a good sport :)

Here he is posing with the Merman and a lunch box that Mandy received. She loved it and is going to use it for work.
On Sunday, I went to my friend Andrea's wedding shower. It was a brunch in Old Town and it was a great time. Andrea got a ton of great kitchen stuff. Her wedding is in a month and I can't wait!

Happy New Year and Nesting!!!

For New Years, Kevin and I went to Damien's house. Damien is the boyfriend of Colleen. Colleen is a co-worker of Kevins. We had a great time! Here is a picture of Colleen and I.

We had wonderful tiara's. I think Billy sports it the best :)

More pictures of us in our tiaras...

Here is a picture of Kevin and Damien.

The house had darts, a pool table, and the Wii. There was a ton to do. I rock at Wii bowling (although I didn't win)

Happy New Year! At Midnight we all counted down and then had champagne. I had brought some sparkling apple cider.....so festive :)

On Friday while Kevin worked, I decided to clean our condo. Our condo is about 870 square feet. Nothing big, but plenty of room for our new addition. We have lived in our condo for 4 years now. I must have been in nesting mode because I decided to clean EVERYTHING! I dusted the baseboards, cleaned the stainless steel, the ceiling fans, all the ceiling corners, and even the outlets. Mom would be so proud! Well, 6 HOURS LATER...I was just wrapping up when Kevin got home. Needless to say, I was very sore the next day:) So for the people that have never been to our humble abode, here are some pics. This is our kitchen that we gutted about 2 years ago. Gotta love IKEA....

This is our downstairs bathroom. It is small, but it has a full size shower in there.

Dining room area....

Living room area.... I don't know what is on the TV right there. It must be a commercial because we were watching the Dolphin/Raven game...

Back patio. About 3.5 years ago, we mosaic-ed the floor, added the lattice and put a storage shed back there. It is one of my favorite areas....

Last project of our condo is redoing the staircase. I had scraped off most of the paint, taken out the rungs, and even stripped the carpeting off of one stair. It looks horrible! 2009 will be the YEAR OF THE STAIRS!!! I said that in 2008 too, but I mean it this time :)

Once you are up the stairs it is set up like a Jack and Jill (pun intended). This is our bedroom.

2nd bath. this has a tub/shower

And of course, baby monkey's room! We also have an attic, which is awesome for storage (especially because I have a ridiculous amount of Christmas decorations).
